Love yourself

Love yourself so much that when someone treats you wrong, you recognize it.

—Rena Rose

Stop mentally abusing yourself.

Pause and remember— Stop mentally abusing yourself. Stop agonizing over your past mistakes and worrying about the future. Life is hard enough without the added fear, panic and anxiety. Your soul is crying out for love and encouragement. Take a moment to breathe deep, get present and find some compassion for yourself. Then, go out and treat yourself right; pamper yourself and take care of your needs. You are worth it!

— Jenni Young

No one is going to love you exactly like you imagine.

No one is going to love you exactly like you imagine. No one is ever going to read your mind and take every star from the sky at the perfect time and hand it to you. No one is going to show up at your door on a horse, with a shoe you lost. Do you understand? That’s why you have to love yourself enough, so that any other love just adds more candles to the cake you’ve already iced.

~ Stephanie Bennett-Henry

Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are.

Always be yourself. Never try to hide who you are. The only shame is to have shame. Always stand up for what you believe in. Always question what other people tell you. Never regret the past, it’s a waste of time. There’s a reason for everything. Every mistake, every moment of weakness, every terrible thing that has happened to you. Grow from it. The only way you can ever get the respect of others is when you show them that you respect yourself and most importantly, do your thing and never apologize for being you.

One day you will realize how much beauty you have inside you

One day you will realize how much beauty you have inside you; how much capacity and light and strength, and one day you will realize how many people you could make a difference in the lives of if you stopped comparing your life with someone else's and really truly embraced yourself and activated all you were made to be.

Time waits for no one

Don’t be so easily moved by things that do not benefit the well-being of your soul. Time waits for no one, and you’re going to wish you invested more of yourself into the things that sparked your heart.

Someone will hurt you emotionally at least once in your lifetime.

Someone will hurt you emotionally at least once in your lifetime. That person will be reckless with your heart. They will tear your heart into pieces and will stomp on it without realizing all the pain it's causing you. You'll feel broken and will feel as though the pain will never end. Even when you're at your lowest, you'll learn something new and valuable about yourself. You'll learn what self-love is all about. You'll reach a new level of appreciation for yourself. And in due time, you will rise as a new person. You'll look back at the moment that brought you to tears, and you'll laugh at the person you used to be. You'll be stronger than ever, and you'll conquer anything and anybody that tried to cause you harm. Be proud of yourself.

Live for yourself and be happy on your own.

There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, sit in a coffee shop on your own, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise. ~Emery Allen

What matters is what you see.

One day I decided that I was beautiful, and so I carried out my life as if I was a beautiful girl. I wear colors that I really like, I wear makeup that makes me feel pretty, and it really helps. It doesn’t have anything to do with how the world perceives you. What matters is what you see. Your body is your temple, it’s your home, and you must decorate it. - Gabourey Sidibe

10 best quotes on priorities and options in relationships

When someone treats you like you’re just one of many options, help them narrow their choice by removing yourself from the equation. Sometimes you have to try not to care, no matter how much you do. Because sometimes you can mean almost nothing to someone who means so much to you. It’s not pride – it’s self-respect.

Don't treat someone like a priority when they treat you like an option. - Marc Twain

If people treat you like an option, leave them like a choice.

I learned that who doesn’t look for you, doesn’t miss you and who doesn’t miss you doesn’t care for you… that destiny determines who enters your life but you decide who stays… that the truth hurts only once and a lie every time you remember it. There are three things in life that leave and never return: words, time and opportunities… therefore, value whoever values you and don’t treat as a priority whoever treats you as an option.

Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option. -Maya Angelou

The only person that deserves a special place in your life is someone that never made you feel like you were an option in theirs. -Shannon L. Alder

Staying in a situation where you're unappreciated isn't called loyalty; It's called breaking your own heart.

If you spend too long holding on to the one who treats you like an option, you'll miss finding the one who treats you like a priority.

You put all this effort into one person. You try so damn hard for them to love you as much as you love them. But the sick reality is they won’t ever love you. You won’t get the happy ending. You’ll keep trying and just get hurt no matter how hard you try because you’ll always be the second choice.

If they act like they can live without you, help them do it.

and then I realized that all along I was looking for myself.

I was looking for someone to inspire me, motivate me, support me, keep me focused; someone who would effectively love me, cherish me, make me happy and then I realized that all along I was looking for myself.

It is okay to want your own happiness.

It is okay to want your own happiness. It’s okay to care about yourself the most. You are not obligated to sit there and smile and swallow every bit of shit everyone heaps on you. You are more than furniture, you’re more than window dressing, you’re not their shiny toy. You’re human, and you have the right to say “That was shitty of you”. You have a right to protest your own mistreatment and set boundaries for respectful interactions. The rest of the world doesn’t realize you have this right, and they will act offended and appalled when you exercise it, but it is yours.

There will always be people who don’t like you

There will always be people who don’t like you, the way you look, the way you talk, the things you say, the way you dress, the things you believe in. But the truth is, it’s up to you to let them ruin your day, or to stand up for yourself and accept yourself just the way you are. Try to be as good as you possibly can. And if that’s not enough for them, it will certainly be for someone else. You're not here to please anyone. Just be nice and true to yourself.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There are plenty of people willing to do that for you. Do your best and surrender the rest.

Don't be too hard on yourself. There are plenty of people willing to do that for you. Do your best and surrender the rest. Tell yourself, "I am doing the best I can with what I have in this moment. That is all I can ever expect of anyone, including me." Love yourself and be proud of everything you do, even your mistakes, because your mistakes mean you're trying.

If you feel like others are not treating you with love and respect, check your price tag. Perhaps you subconsciously marked yourself down. Because it's YOU who tells others what you're worth by showing them what you are willing to accept for your time and attention. So get off the clearance rack. If you don't value and respect yourself, wholeheartedly, no one else will either.
