Violets are blue, and so are you

violets are blue, and so are you

i look at you
and i can see it
in your face
you think you hide it,
but i see you

i see the hurt
the dark circles beneath your eyes
and the quiet plea
dancing on your bottom lip,
too afraid to be voiced
too afraid to be heard
because you’re too afraid
of being hurt

and i just want to take you
and wrap you up in my arms
hold you, console you
tell you things that you’ll believe,
but you don’t seem to believe
anything, anymore
because you have been deceived
too many times

so i’ll just look at you
and see the pain in your fake smile,
and i’ll smile back

and i’ll hear the attempted deception
when you tell me that you’re just tired,
and i’ll say me too

i know you’re broken inside

violets are blue,
and so are you

Her heart was an open book

Her heart was an open book with beautiful pages and detailed lettering. She wanted people to read her story in hopes that it would make them write their own. Instead, every person who came across the pages of her heart ripped out their favorite story and took it with them. They folded back pages and beat up the corners. They signed their name with sloppy writing and with a simple 'goodbye'. The book is now tucked away in the darkest parts of her, because no one wanted to read a tragic story with a bad ending.

Fake emotions

I smile
while I intend to cry,
I laugh
when i feel like dying inside,
hoping that
maybe one day
in between
all the fake emotions
that i wore,
I'll find a smile
that won't seem
so made up anymore

They say there is a reason..

They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way I feel,
For no-one knows the heartache,
That lies behind our smiles,
No-one knows how many times,
We have broken down and cried,
We want to tell you something,
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.

4 am

4 am is not for the happy
It is not for the fulfilled
It is not for couples sleeping
soundly in each others arms
4 am is for the lonely,
awake in emptiness and the feeling
of never being good enough
It is for the desire be loved in return
4 am is for the poets spilling out
their blood and thoughts on paper
Giving life to the words they did
not have the courage to speak
4 am is for the brokenhearted
who spill tears that come to no end,
for missing someone who doesn't miss them
4 am is for those with a smile on their faces
but sadness in their eyes for the cuts
that bleed the demons out
4 am is not for the happy
it is not for the fulfilled
it is not for the couples sleeping
soundly in each others arms

I understand..

Dear you,

I understand why you're leaving
I know who i am
I know we're not meant to be
I don't understand why destiny
would let us meet knowing we
cannot be together, ever

I want you to know that
I am not angry or hating you.
I am not asking for your
sympathy or asking you
to come back to me.

This is just my way to
cope with my pain,
by sharing quotes and poems
with those who understand.

-You go spread your wings and be happy!

Being lonely isn’t not having someone next to you…

I used to think the definition of lonely was purely just being alone. But I realized that it’s feeling sad at night and being too scared to text someone in case you disturb them. It’s being surrounded by a huge group of people and still feeling like you don’t belong with them. Being lonely isn’t not having someone next to you… It’s when the person next to you, isn’t the person who’s truly in your heart…

It should be scary how numb I feel.

It should be scary how numb I feel. How alone…in the cliche, ‘a room full of people’. The lying and pretending we have the perfect relationship is taking its toll. The destruction, the madness, the emptiness…it’s become my new normal. He doesn’t even see it. Doesn’t see me withdrawing, doesn’t hear my mind wandering, doesn’t feel my love turning into resentment.

A heartbreak isn’t always as loud as a bomb exploding.

A heartbreak isn’t always as loud as a bomb exploding. Sometimes, it could be as quiet as a feather falling and the most painful thing is, nobody hears it but you.

To The Person I Used To Call Best Friend

We haven’t seen or spoken to each other for the longest time… In fact, we live almost completely separate lives now, except for where the outer parts of our social circles overlap. And though we may not hear from each other anymore – we do still hear about each other from time to time.
I often wonder what happens when you hear my name. Do you feel even one of the plethora of emotions I experience whenever somebody talks about you? Or is it just me because I was never able to let go? We may be distant enough that we don’t run into each other, but we’re not so far apart that we couldn’t reach out to one another if we really wanted to. But we don’t and that’s what says it all really isn’t it. We don’t contact each other… we stay right where we are, each within the confines of our own little circle never crossing that imaginary line. And the funny thing is that despite the fact we have different feelings towards the current situation, we both keep things the way that they are for the same reason: because you’re happy with your life the way it is. ~Ranata Suzuki

Hello, my old friend. Isn’t it weird how a year can change everything? In fact, it’s already been over a year since we cut each other off completely, and yet it feels like just yesterday we were sitting in your room talking and laughing. But, I’m not here to dwell on the past and who said what (you have no idea how many times I’ve heard ‘But wait, weren’t you guys best friends?’ in the past year), I’m here to tell you that I want to lay all of this to rest.

I’m well aware that what’s broken cannot be fixed, and I promise I’m not trying to put duct tape over a gaping hole. We had always believed BS would never come between us, but life happened and look at where we are now. It’s been a long year, and as much as I would like to say I’ve completely forgotten about you, I can’t. I can’t because there was a time when I proudly called you my best friend, and I could never wish harm upon someone who used to mean so much to me. Sometimes I find myself remembering some of the crazy and hilarious times we’ve had together, but those memories will remain in the past, a reflection of a chapter in my life that I do not and never have regretted.

It’s time I take all of the questions and hurt I've bottled up over the past year and leave them with the memories. I’ll never really know what caused the abrupt falling out we had, but as many say, there’s a reason people come and go in life. We’re two completely different people than who we were a year ago. I’m thankful for the role you had in my life, because without you I never would have found such amazing people and opportunities that I’m beyond grateful to have in my life now. Neither of us are perfect. I know following our falling out I said negative things out of hurt and anger and I know you said negative things because you were hurt too.

I’m tired of carrying around the memory of a broken friendship. I’m over the pettiness and late-night subtweets, and ’m beyond done with having to explain the details to curious acquaintances, so I’m leaving all of that in the past.

From now on, when people ask, we were just two people that had a falling out and went their separate ways. We shared good memories but we’ve moved on to new chapters in our lives.

I hope life is treating you well, and I wish you and your family nothing but success and good health. I’ll continue to pave the path for my future, and I hope you do too. Should you need me in the future, I’ll be right here. ~Laura Guerriero

That heavy feeling in your chest

There it goes again. That heavy feeling in your chest when you don’t feel any desire to speak or move. All you want to do is close your eyes and sleep, because the process of being broken is incredibly exhausting. You attempt your best to make your days fulfilling, but no matter how hard you try you can’t seem to connect to anyone or anything.

You might be sad because you've been through a lot..

You might be sad because you've been through a lot, but you should also be proud of yourself for being STRONG enough to make it through it. - Sonya Parker

People say that bad memories cause the most pain, but actually it's the good ones that drive you insane.

Sometimes even though you're having a good time, you can't help but stop and think about how much you miss the old times.

Memories warm you up from the inside. But they also tear you apart.
Haruki Murakami

Feelings don't die easily because we keep feeding them with memories.

Sometimes, people will just let you go.

Sometimes, people will just let you go. People will just let you go without telling you. People will just let you go without even noticing they've let you go. They stop thinking about you every day. They stop texting you "good morning" when they first wake up in the morning. They stop replying to you because they have nothing much to say to you. They stop looking forward to the next time they're gonna see you. They stop placing you at the center of their attention. They stop making enough time to spend with you. They stop caring as much as they used to until they eventually don't care for you anymore. Once you've realized they've let you go, you find yourself slowly letting them go as well and eventually, you stop waiting for them to reply to you. You stop allowing them to take up so much space in your life. You stop making an effort to be a part of their day. You stop expecting them to come back to you with an apology. You stop needing them to be happy. You stop worrying about whether or not they're okay. You stop loving them because you now have nothing left to love yourself with. You accept that you're no longer a part of their lives and they're no longer a part of yours, and you move on. Everybody will tell you that's how it goes, but nobody will tell you how much it hurts.

You planted your seed inside my heart, but now it’s tearing me apart..

You planted your seed inside my heart, but now it’s tearing me apart.. because it never got to sprout before you decided you were out. And so, as I pretend I’m bathing in the rain, I imagine mother nature evaporating all this pain. But, in reality, I know that natures cycle will never end.. and from the very start, you only pretended to be my friend.

I love hard and I grieve just as hard..

I love hard and I grieve just as hard because if you think about it, grief is a kind of love really isn’t it? It’s the painful shade of love you feel when the person you love is gone. You can’t ask me to stop loving somebody, even if it’s painful; it’s like asking me not to breathe air. So don’t tell me to get over it, don’t tell me to move on… and don’t tell me I’m wallowing in self-pity because my pain doesn’t affect you… you don’t have to live with it or feel it every day. So let me deal with my loss in my own way. My grief doesn’t mean I’m not coping… it is simply my way of respecting the love I still hold for a person who is gone.

Losing someone you love ~ break up quotes

Some people are miles apart – others are worlds apart. The particulars may vary but the emotions are the same… There is no other feeling of longing quite as painful as being separated from someone you love.

There is a moment in time when the universe turns itself completely upside down and nothing makes sense anymore. It is a moment when facts become fictions and every truth you ever believed in instantly becomes a lie… It’s when the present becomes the past, your life story becomes a myth and your dreams become little more than childish fantasies… Your reality becomes an illusion as your anxieties transform into fear because somewhere inside you realize that this is the moment you are watching everything dissolve away into nothing… This is what it feels like to lose the love of your life.

If we should never see each other again, then all I ask is that you preserve the memory of the girl you once knew. If by some chance, you should remember me from time to time – then remember me the way that I was; young and happy and free… Remember my imperfections through nostalgia’s softened lens… let them blur and merge into everything that you loved about me. Don’t remember when I cried… just that I laughed. Don’t remember how difficult I was to reach – only that I was incredible to hold. Remember the curve of my smile, or the glint in my eye whenever I would look at you or the way that moonlight looked upon my skin. Because perhaps in a way, it is a blessing that you will never see me aging… that you’ll never know when my health is failing… so don’t imagine me ever changing… Remember me always as the girl that I was… remember the way that I loved you… and remember that I always will…

The universe works in mysterious ways, and just as the heavens shift so that certain planets may briefly align only once in a lifetime – so too can this happen with souls. Sometimes you will meet someone who seems so perfect for you that it is as if you were created from the same celestial material… yet you find your trajectories taking you away from each other in hopelessly opposite directions. It seems almost cruel… to find a love so perfect only to lose it after such a brief time, but it is simply because your paths were destined to cross but not converge as one. You are, to each other, but a shooting star… a momentary flash of brilliance… a beacon of light sent to brighten each other’s lives and illuminate each other’s true path.

So let them go with a thankful heart… Wish them well on their journey and accept with grace the fact that some people fit perfectly into your heart but not your life and it is as simple and as complicated as that.

At least we are under the same sky - you and I.

Please know that although we didn’t end up together in the end, I will always be grateful for having met you. Because despite the fact that it broke my heart to walk this path you set me on, I see now that I am not lost like I thought I was in the beginning. Every day that passes, I am realizing that these were not wasted years or wasted tears – it was all part of a journey to find the person I was always meant to be. I was never lost… I was simply coming home. Perhaps not to you like I always dreamed of… but to my true self instead.

I’m slowly coming to accept that you’ll always have a big impact on my life – even though you’re no longer in it. Meeting you changed me as a person and so it’s natural to expect that you’re always going to affect the way I think and feel about things. I have accepted that there are going to be reminders and that they’re going to make me sad… but forgetting you is not an option because there were so many positive things you brought into my life that I wouldn’t change for the world and I try to hold onto those because they’re worth saving…

And I hope that somehow you know that you’ll always mean something to me – even if I don’t mean anything to you anymore. I hope you know that I will always love you… in some way… in some form… But most of all, I’d like to think that I still impact your life in a positive way, even after all this time. I’d like to believe that every once in a while when you think of me; it’s not with regret… but with a smile…

I have always known that feelings can change like the seasons do, but..

I have always known that feelings can change like the seasons do, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine you to be a fair-weather lover. And while I would have weathered the tempests of hell to stay by your side – it seems you sought only sunshine because at the first sign of clouds you left me; alone and confused... -Ranata Suzuki

I miss you a lot.

Sometimes I get this urge to talk to you, and then I remember that you're a different person now, it's just sad because I miss you a lot.
