Her heart was an open book

Her heart was an open book with beautiful pages and detailed lettering. She wanted people to read her story in hopes that it would make them write their own. Instead, every person who came across the pages of her heart ripped out their favorite story and took it with them. They folded back pages and beat up the corners. They signed their name with sloppy writing and with a simple 'goodbye'. The book is now tucked away in the darkest parts of her, because no one wanted to read a tragic story with a bad ending.

I understand..

Dear you,

I understand why you're leaving
I know who i am
I know we're not meant to be
I don't understand why destiny
would let us meet knowing we
cannot be together, ever

I want you to know that
I am not angry or hating you.
I am not asking for your
sympathy or asking you
to come back to me.

This is just my way to
cope with my pain,
by sharing quotes and poems
with those who understand.

-You go spread your wings and be happy!

The depths of sadness

Again, the English language fails to have a word to describe the depths of sadness, how a heart can feel heavy, how a stomach can drop to your feet, or how missing someone can cripple you.

A heartbreak isn’t always as loud as a bomb exploding.

A heartbreak isn’t always as loud as a bomb exploding. Sometimes, it could be as quiet as a feather falling and the most painful thing is, nobody hears it but you.

Thanks for the life lesson

You were my first love and I was so madly in love with you that I would have gone to the ends of the earth for you… You gave me feelings I had never felt before… but then you broke my heart and crushed it. You left me with scars that will never leave me. In the beginning, I believed I would never be able to make it through this heartbreak… it was the worst pain I had ever gone through. It was as if you had driven me into some dark tunnel and left me there alone and terrified. I wasn’t able to breathe and it felt as though I were dying without you… But slowly I began to see some light at the end and move toward it, gathering all my shattered and broken pieces. And now that I am free and clear of that darkness, I really must thank you for breaking my heart… because if you hadn’t I would never have learned how to pick myself up from rock bottom. If you hadn’t shown me what it was like at my lowest point I would never have realized how strong I am and just how much endurance I have. Thank you for letting me know what I deserve from my future relationships and what I didn’t deserve from you… Thank you for showing me what I’m really made of...

I will never crawl to you.

I will never crawl to you. I will never buckle my knees for you or for anyone else. I will never give you more than the roll of my eyes, the hard turn of my back, like a door being slammed, a book being closed after the last disappointing chapter.

I've said it a million times and my voice will never waiver as I say it a million more. I have given you all that I have. You're not getting the cold, empty room of me that still stands because it stands with only one brick of slap-stick love. That's all I have left of me and whatever it takes, I will rebuild that empty room into a home and I promise you will not be getting a key.
