Joel Osteen Quotes

Consider this: you are today what you believed about yourself yesterday. And you will be tomorrow what you believe about yourself right now.

After all God doesn’t want you to be an imitation of someone else. You should be the original you were created to be. There is an anointing on your life, an empowerment. Not to be somebody else, but to be you. If you let people squeeze you into their molds and you bow down to their pressure to try to please your critics, it not only takes away your uniqueness, but it also lessens the favor on your life.

Don't be a people pleaser. Be a God pleaser.

Whatever your critics say about you has no bearing on your worth. You are a child of the Most High God. The Creator of the universe breathed life into you. You have seeds of greatness on the inside. You’ve been crowned with favor. God has already equipped and empowered you with everything you need. Don’t waste your valuable time trying to play up to people, trying to win over all your critics, or trying to prove to someone that you’re important.

You must make a decision that you are going to move on. It wont happen automatically. You will have to rise up and say, ‘I don’t care how hard this is, I don’t care how disappointed I am, I’m not going to let this get the best of me. I’m moving on with my life.

Keep in mind, hurting people often hurt other people as a result of their own pain. If somebody is rude and inconsiderate, you can almost be certain that they have some unresolved issues inside. They have some major problems, anger, resentment, or some heartache they are trying to cope with or overcome. The last thing they need is for you to make matters worse by responding angrily.

As long as you’re comparing yourself with others, you will never feel good about yourself. Run your own race. God has given you exactly what you need for the race that’s been designed for you.

Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you're doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you.

God has put a promise in your heart. Maybe it’s been years. You tried and it didn’t work out. You had some setbacks. But God is saying, “Begin again.” Start praying again. Start expecting again.

When God puts love and compassion in your heart toward someone, He’s offering you an opportunity to make a difference in that person’s life. You must learn to follow that love. Don’t ignore it. Act on it. Somebody needs what you have.

Encouragement to others is something everyone can give. Somebody needs what you have to give. It may not be your money; it may be your time. It may be your listening ear. It may be your arms to encourage. It may be your smile to uplift. Who knows?

When you are tempted to get discouraged, remind yourself that according to God’s word, your future is getting brighter; you are on your way to a new level of glory. You may think you’ve got a long way to go, but you need to look back at how far you’ve already come. You may not be everything you want to be but atleast you can thank God that you’re not what you used to be.

You don't have to have great faith in order for something great to happen. Even small faith can move a mountain.

God knows how to get people to change. Your job is to love them, pray for them, and help them when you can.

Keep in mind, just because you don’t know the answer doesn’t mean that one does not exist. You simply haven’t discovered it yet.

You may be at a crossroads in your life. You may have issues to deal with; people you need to forgive. You can go one of the two ways. You can ignore what you now know to be true and keep burying that bitterness in your life, pushing it deeper and allowing it to poison and contaminate you and those around you. Or you can make a much better choice by getting it out in the open and asking God to help you to totally forgive and let it all go.

Quit trying to change things you can't change. Worry less and trust more.

Many people are unhappy and are not experiencing life to its fullest because they’ve closed their hearts to compassion, they are motivated by only what they want and what they think they need. They rarely do anything for anybody else unless they have an ulterior goal in mind. They are self-involved and self-centered.

When we don’t forgive, we’re not hurting the other person. We’re not hurting the company that did us wrong. We’re not hurting God. We’re only hurting ourselves.

Friend, there’s no greater investment in life than in being a people builder. Relationships are more important than our accomplishments.

Too many times we think, “I do all the work at this company and these people don’t appreciate me, they get all the credit.” But don’t worry about that. You’re not working unto people; you’re working unto God. He’s keeping the records.

Some people don’t want to be happy. You’ve got to have the attitude, “If you don’t want to be happy, that’s fine. But, you’re not going to keep me from being happy.” Take responsibility for your own happiness. Don’t let other people’s issues sour your own life.

You cannot expect to live a positive life if you hang with negative people.

That’s why it is important to enjoy the journey not just the destination. In this world, we will never arrive at a place where everything is perfect and we have no more challenges. As admirable as setting goals and reaching them maybe, you can’t get so focused on accomplishing your goals that you make the mistake of not enjoying where you are right now.

You don’t know why God has put that person in your path. It’s not a coincidence. He’s strategically lined up every person, every detail and every step of your life. Now do your part—don’t miss an opportunity to do good for others.

Be happy for other people's success. God has blessings specifically prepared for you.

You can’t help everyone but you can help someone. There are people in your life that are connected to your destiny.

You may think you’ve got a long way to go, but you need to look back at how far you’ve already come. You may not be everything you want to be but at least you can thank God that you’re not what you used to be.

You don’t have to figure out how it’s going to happen. It may not work on paper; there may not be a logical solution. In the natural, you don’t see a way, but that’s not your job; your job is to believe.

You’ve got to let go of what didn’t work out. Let go of the hurts and pain. Let go of your disappointments, your failures. You can’t do anything about the past, but you can do something about right now.

You are not here on earth by accident. God has a plan and a purpose for your life.

When you go out each day, represent God in a great way. Be a witness. Be a positive influence in people’s lives. If you’ll put this simple principle into action, shining brightly, you’ll not only make a difference in other people’s lives, but it’ll make a difference in your own life.

God never promised that life would be fair. But He did promise that if you will stay in faith, He will take what’s meant for your harm and use it to your advantage.

Faith is about believing even when you can’t see it.

It’s a tragedy to go through life dissatisfied, wishing you had more, waiting to be happy. Be content right where you are.

Let go of the wrong people. God has people lined up that’ll bring out the best in you & inspire you to rise to new levels.

It may look impossible, but God can do the impossible. Just because you don’t see anything happening doesn’t mean God is not working.

Choosing to be positive and having a grateful attitude is going to determine how you're going to live your life.

Associate with people of vision. Be around those who inspire you and motivate you to reach your dreams.

Don’t be so focused on what you want that you take for granted what you have.

Just as you spend money, you are spending your life. You’re either investing it, or you’re wasting it. Spend it wisely.

When you go through a disappointment, when you go through a loss, don’t stop on that page. Keep moving forward. There’s another chapter in front of you, but you have to be willing to walk into it.

Evaluate who’s on your team. Who are you giving your time and attention to? Are they building you up or tearing you down?

We have to realize that our lives could be gone in a moment. There are no guarantees that we will be here at this time next year. Learn to live each day to the fullest. Don’t complain. Don’t focus on what’s wrong. Be grateful for the opportunity to experience each day.

Be kind, be nice, but don’t allow someone else’s unhappiness to keep you from being happy.

A little boy went out to the backyard to play with a baseball bat and a ball. He said to himself, “I am the best hitter in the world.” Then he threw the ball up in the air and took a swing at it, but he missed. Without a moment’s hesitation, he picked up the ball and tossed it in the air again, saying as he swung the bat, “I’m the best hitter in all the world.” He swung and missed. Strike two. He tossed the ball up again, concentrating more intensely, even more determined, saying, “I am the best hitter in all the world!” He swung the bat with all his might. Whiff! Strike three. The little boy laid down his bat and smiled real big. “What do you know?” he said. “I’m the best pitcher in all the world!

When you face a difficulty, something you don’t understand, instead of being discouraged, instead of complaining, have a new perspective. Declare, “This is not here to defeat me, it’s here to promote me.”

You have no excuse to give up on your dreams. You have what it takes to become all you were created to be.

Life is too short to live offended or bitter. Let it go and trust God to vindicate you.

You’ve got to start talking like you’re blessed, thinking like you’re blessed. That’s what activates the blessing.

When you allow what someone says or does to upset you, you’re allowing that person to control you.

Shake off any self-pity, any bitterness. Have the attitude, “Nobody owes me anything. I’m equipped, empowered & anointed.

You need to be around people who know more than you and have more talent than you. Don’t be intimidated by them; be inspired.
